SCIENCE IS ALL AROUND US ERASMUS+
Bursa, Türkiye 27.09.2021- 01.10.2021
First day of the LTTA started with the official opening ceremony at our school conference hall with the speech of our school principal and Turkish coordinator. Ice-breaking activities like Kahoot were done to get to know each other’s countries. Each country made a presentation about their country, education system and school. At the end of the presentations the participants enjoyed a mini Turkish Folk Music concert that our teachers and students prepared. After the ceremony there was a presentation of Turkish cuisine. In the afternoon we made a school tour.
On the second day the students participated Maths lessons combining Maths and Art. Technology is used effectively throughout the lessons. Following the lessons the participants made a trip to Ulu Mosque, they photographed the geometrical shapes. They then toured Kozahan, which is one of the oldest historical attractions in Bursa.
Third day started with a visit to Panaroma 1326 (Historical Museum), which depicts the day of conquest in a 360 degree circular loop. The day continued with a trip to Iznik where the students learned about Hipparchus of Nicaea and practiced an open air geometry activity. They then learned about the history of Iznik and visited important monuments.
Fourth day of the LTTA included experiments and workshops in Science and Technology Center and Guhem (Aviation Center). In the afternoon we visited Cumalıkızık – a historical village, which is in Unesco Heritage List.
On the last day of the mobility students prepared their presentations about the week. Youthpass documents and certificates were created. Feedback and evaluation forms were distributed and completed. In the evening we had a farewell dinner and a presentation of international sweets. We said good bye to each other until next mobility.
The activities in whole week encouraged team-work, inter-disciplinary approach, hands on learning and so on. All of the participants learned from each other and found opportunity to practice English, which is one of the main aims in this project.
